If you get straight to business he will ask several leading questions, trying to figure out exactly what it is you desire at your stay and will direct you to an appropriate person who can aid with that. If you are covered with the dust of long travel, he offers you access to a bath and refreshment "for a pittance". He seems happy to see you, regardless of how poor or unkempt you look. He introduces himself as Markesh, his voice is pleasant and his demeanor disarming. If you make no move to approach anyone eventually a tall majestic man with long white hair approaches you. They are amenable to discussion however, and all of them seem quite well versed in arts, philosophy and local gossip. They have flashing smiles and inticing eyes but none of them approach you. In the center of the courtyard is a small pit with a woven cover, something hisses and shifts beneath it but the sound is almost drowned out by a music that seems to permeate the air, making you feel vaguely lethargic (a perceptive character will spot an Angyalka playing in a shadowed corner).īeautiful young women and men sit and lay about the courtyard in various states of undress, including a dereth or two. Red blossomed trees form dappled shade across the grassy ground, an unusual sight this far south. You ush past a beaded curtain and are immedialty struck by the beauty. Her movements are fluid.īeyond the small entrance hall the walk opens up into a magnificent courtyard. She has blue hair and eyes and almost seems to exude a slightly chill aura.
Otherwise she takes no mind of their approach or entrance. She asks the travelers to leave their weapons at the door, a small closet just off the entrance serving to store them. A tall woman is leaning agaisnt the wall outside the doorway, armed with a single long saber, her face veiled and her body covered in heavy pants and a padded shirt. The entrance is a single gate, not big enough to take your horses and camels through but shaded stable can be found a little way up the valley wall.

The bordello itself is probably two stories tall, white sandstone walls and narrow windows drapped with purple curtains from within. Exotic flowers that bloom blue and purple decoarate the shore. You notice that the water seems to vanish under the wall of the bordello, likely forming an interior grotto to cater to certain clients. The oasis itself glitters blue under the bright sunlight, a few palm trees spreading delicately over it. The heat here also seems to cut off abruptly likely because you are out of the dry desert wind. The fragrance is flowery but not pungent, vaguely pleasant and comforting. The wind here is cut off by the rising dunes on either side so once you start descending into the valley you begin to sense it. The only thing I ask is that there be a central courtyard in the brothel that contains either a snake pit or some type of cage to house the aforementioned Red Vipers.Īs you approach the small oasis outside the city the first thing that strikes you is the smell. So with that in mind, please help me to bring the House Of the Red Blossom to life. The house is also the headquarters of the secret police and each harlot who plys her trade within it's walls is also a skilled spy and assassin. In larger doses the blossom is downright deadly, but man.what a death. It's created from a mixture of the venom of a rare red viper and various other compounds and exotic ingredients. The names are based on the one thing the house is particularly renown for the creation and administration of a drug/aphrodisac called "the red blossom". The place is called "The House of the Red Blossom" or "The House of the Red Viper" respectively. Story takes place in the south, so I am looking for something with an Eyptian/Turkish/Morrocan feel to it, BUT I am open to other exotic motiffs IE: Aztec, Chinese, Indian etc. Prob is that my creative juices are all drained and I can't seem put together a subitable brothel together in my head.
